Sierra Nevada is a dramatic, rugged and extensive mountain range, the highest in Europe after the Alps. Protected areas includes 86,208ha of torrential rivers, sheer-sided gorges, stony scree slopes, glacial lakes between snowy summits and, in the foothills of the Alpujarras, cultivated terraces of almond trees and vegetables. Bottom line, this is an outdoor dream come true for me!
This shot was taken from within Granada highest point. soon to visit with my photo tour
The feeling of watching the sun coming to life from darkness is one you must experience for yourself. Grateful i was able to capture its beauty as well.
Watching the sunset colours staining those clouds like an army painted and ready to march on. captured by heart.
To understand the full value of grass in a green ditch you need to witness and feel this barren lands of time. Mother nature passed me a delicate access to capture this dramatic scene at the edge of winter on my first ever visit. So Grateful.
Good old friends gathered in this barren mountain to seal the agreement...Secretly. It was a cloudy day with a slight cold refreshing breath when suddenly the light between the 2 mountains broke dramatically from the clouds.
The true beauty of the Valley is revealed under the rain. For this image i stood in the pouring rain for an hour as i couldn't find shelter until the skies parted and the magical ethereal light shone through to give me the perfect blue reflected from the small water pools created all over the land.
Wadi Degla is a very important Egyptian valley ten-minute drive away from Maadi. Limestone rocks remaining from the marine environment during the Eocene Epoch in the eastern desert (60 million years) leads you to a group of valleys within the main valley.
The rock formations surrounding the valley are ideal for bouldering and exploring. You don’t need to be an experienced climber as they aren’t too steep. Instead, you just need proper shoes and the willingness to become covered in dust. Cyclists and joggers mostly sticks to the main trail leading through the valley, where the terrain is the smoothest. The protectorate is also a great location for a picnic and barbecuing.
The protectorate is rich in Fossils as well as animals including mammals like dear , taital , mountain rabits , red fox , feather tailed rat , oviparous , barbed rat, little tailed bat and others. Among the insects there are and many others. 18 species of reptiles have been recorded. The rain water dropping from the waterfalls affected the limestone rocks along the years and formed the so called canyon Degla, which resembles ay parts the Grand Canyon in the states.
Inside the boulder Degla Valley, time stands still yet escapes silently leaving you in solitude and content.
Wadi Degla protectorate is naturally Gorgeous and serene, the best camping within the heart of the city you can have.
